Kala Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ:KALA), a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of innovative therapies for diseases of the eye, today announced that it will host a key opinion leader symposium on the unmet need in dry eye disease and the potential for EYSUVIS™ as a short-term treatment for the signs and symptoms of the disease. The event will be held virtually on Thursday, September 17, 2020, beginning at 8:00 a.m. ET.
Scheduled to speak at the event are Edward J. Holland, M.D., Director of Cornea Services at Cincinnati Eye Institute and Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati and Kelly K. Additionally, Kala management will present an update on launch planning for EYSUVIS. A New Drug Applicaton (NDA) for EYSUVIS is currently under review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) with a Prescription Drug User Fee Act (PDUFA) goal date of October 30, 2020. If approved, Kala expects to launch EYSUVIS before year-end.
